01 — The Brief and Problem

Healthcare in 20 years

The brief asked us to design for a future where advanced technology makes possible things that currently are not. Our group chose to design for healthcare, specifically around one of the most consistent frustrations people have with the current system: the difficulty of getting timely, convenient access to medical information and diagnosis.

Booking appointments, waiting weeks to be seen, travelling to a clinic for basic check-ups — these are friction points that exist right now, and that are only likely to intensify as populations age and healthcare systems face growing demand. We asked ourselves: what if, 20 years from now, you could diagnose a range of health conditions from home using nothing but a saliva sample?

That question became Deimax. A personal diagnostics companion app, paired with a physical Deimax Testing Kit, that lets users detect health issues early, understand their diagnosis, access treatment options, and manage prescriptions, all without a traditional doctor visit.
